RightWhere

Privacy, in plain words.

What happens when you send RightWhere a message or grade a site. One page, no legal theatre.

01

What I collect

When you use the contact form, I collect what you choose to send: your name, business name, email, phone number, what you are looking for, and your message.

When you use the site grader, I receive the website address you enter and, if you add them, a business name and phone number. The grader fetches that website the way a browser would and reads what any visitor can see.

The server also receives ordinary technical request information, such as an IP address and browser headers. I use a short-lived, in-memory count per IP address to limit abuse of the form and the grader; it is not written to a database.

02

Why I use it

Contact details are used to read your request, reply, work out whether RightWhere is a fit, and keep a basic record of the conversation.

Grader inputs are used only to run the checks and show you the result. The result is rendered for you and is not stored or attached to you afterwards.

I do not sell contact information, and a website inquiry never becomes a marketing list for another business.

03

Who helps deliver it

Contact messages are delivered to me by Resend, an email provider, which processes the message only to deliver it.

When a Google API key is configured, the grader asks Google's PageSpeed Insights to measure the website you entered. Google receives the website address, not your name or phone. When no key is configured the grader says so on the result and skips that step.

This site does not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies, behavioural profiles or a customer account system.

04

How long I keep it

I keep legitimate business inquiries only as long as they are useful for the conversation, ordinary business records, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. You can ask me to correct or delete an inquiry unless I need to keep it for one of those reasons.

Grader inputs are held in memory for the length of the check, which is under half a minute.

05

External links

The gallery links to demonstration sites RightWhere runs for fictional businesses; they collect nothing. Links to maps, directories or other services are governed by those services once you leave this site.

06

Your choices

You may ask what contact information I hold, request a correction, or request deletion by emailing ray@getrightwhere.com. You can always call or email instead of using the form.
